Hi Y4,
HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you have all had a fantastic Christmas and that Santa brought you some exciting presents! I’m sure you are just as excited about returning to school tomorrow as you were on Christmas morning!
I just wanted to say a huge thank-you for all the lovely Christmas cards and gifts you gave to myself and to Mrs Parr - it was really very kind of you and your parents. Thank you very much.
See you in the morning, from Miss Rice x

Christmas Poem
Christmas time is a time of good cheer,
Happiness around us to last all year.
Rudolph is busy pulling the sleigh,
In all kinds of weather aty night, not day.
Santa is waiting to deliver to all,
The presents are ready, some big and some small.
Merry Christmas to everyone near and far,
And high on your Christmas tree an angel or star.
Soon it is over for another year.

Christmas Poem
Christmas is the best thing in the year
Have a mince pie Santa
Reindeer like carrots
I like Christmas all the time
Santa is the best
There’s Santa!
Merry Christmas everyone
And Christmas trees are so exciting
Santa is coming to town.

Please have a look at these lovely acrostic Christmas poems, written recently by some of the children in their writing logs. I’m all in the mood for Christmas now!
Christmas Poem
Christmas is very exciting and fun.
Ho ho ho merry Christmas.
Rudolf has a very shiny nose.
Ice is hanging from the trees.
Stars are shining brightly on our tree.
Turkey is for dinner with lots of vegetables.
Mistletoe is hanging from the door.
Across the sky, Santa flys.
Santa has been, hip hip hip hooray!
By Charlie
Christmas Poem
Christmas is the time of year everyone enjoys,
Ho ho, father Christmas is here for the girls and boys,
Rudolf the reindeer flys high in the sky with a big sack full of toys.
Inside every house people have a cup of tea,
Sometimes you see,
Tinsel on the tree.
Morning to night Santa works at his shop,
And tells the elves when to work and when to stop.
Some boys and girls have a Santa top.

Poem
Carol singers knock on the door,
Having fun is all that we adore.
Ringing bells all night long,
Icy robins tweeting a song.
Santa is on his sleigh saying ho ho ho,
Trees are lit up brightly in the snow.
Misletoe above your head while you kiss,
All wide awake thoe children don’t miss.
Singing and dancing all they go!

At present we are unable to write on the site in school due to being blocked from writing posts by Sefton’s new filtering service, so there are a few sunshine celebrations to catch up on.
Congratulations went to Rebecca M a couple of weeks ago for “always being nice”. Following Rebecca it was Antony’s turn. Amy voted for Antony after he helped her to clean up her bag when something was accidently spilt on it. Last Friday our Ray of Sunshine went to Beth for including children who had no-one to play with. Well done to all three of you - excellent reasons!

There is a very good and important website that tells you all about safety on the internet at http://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/8_10/
It is also included in the links section at the side of your blog.

School Council
Posted on November 16th, 2007 at 12:20 pm by year4 and
Congratulations to Amy, our new school council member for Y4. Amy will now join Grace in representing the views of Y4 in any school council meetings and sometimes in front of visitors and/or the rest of the school. Amy achieved the place through an in-class voting system after all children had the chance to make a presentation for a place on the council. Well done to the other children who applied and please have another go later in the year.
We would like to thank James and Rebecca F for all their hard work during their time on the school council in Y3 and during the beginning of Y4.
2 Weeks of Sunshine

Well done to Ryan H, our Ray of Sunshine last week, achieved for helping Amy when all her things had fallen out of her bag - and without being asked too! (Sorry Ryan, it’s a little bit late!)
And this week, well done to Sophie C. Sophie was voted for by Rebecca M for helping her with some of her work. Very kind Sophie!
Ray of Sunshine
Posted on November 2nd, 2007 at 12:37 pm by year4 and
As we now have Golden Time for the last hour on Friday afternoons (this is a whole school reward system for good behaviour) the Ray of Sunshine certificate is now given in the classroom instead of the hall. These children are then to be acknowledged by Mr Hewer in the following assembly on the Monday.
This week our Ray of Sunshine award goes to Natalie. She was voted for by Sophie Q for inclusion of others when playing outside. Well done Natalie - keep up the good behaviour!
